If a member of the public is pleased with the service he or she received from an officer, and in particular if the officer has done something extraordinary, the Independent Police Review Authority encourages the member of the public to formally compliment the officer. There are two ways to compliment an officer:
     
  1. Send a letter to:
    Chicago Police Department
    Human Resources Division
    Attention: Awards and Recognition Section, Room 2020 SW

    Chicago, Illinois 60653
     
  2. Click on “Compliment an Officer Online”.
     
Once a compliment is received online, the Independent Police Review Authority will forward it to the Chicago Police Department.
